How it works
Bring the plan you have
A business plan, a marketing plan, a page of notes or a list in your head. In a first conversation we find the three things that matter most this season.
Commit to a few things each week
Together we write a six-week action plan of small, dated commitments, then meet for 30 minutes every week to check what got done and what's next.
Talk to us first
Your first 30-minute consultation is free and carries no obligation. Call, text or email; you'll talk to a senior strategist.
Services
-
Six-week action plan
Turn the plan you already have into a short list of dated, owner-sized commitments you can start on Monday.
-
Weekly check-ins
Thirty minutes, same time every week: what you promised, what got done, what got in the way, and what you'll commit to next.
-
Owner accountability coaching
An ongoing coaching relationship that keeps your follow-through honest month after month, not just in a burst of January energy.
-
Owner habits and calendar reset
Protect the hours that move the business forward, so commitments stop losing to the inbox, the phone and other people's emergencies.
-
Stalled project restart
Pick up the one project that has been 'almost started' for months, cut it into small next steps and get it moving again.
Most owners don't have a planning problem. They have a Tuesday problem: by mid-week the phone, the crew, the customers and the inbox have eaten the hours they meant to spend on the business. Doin.ca is execution coaching for Canadian owners. We turn the plan you already have into a few weekly commitments, check in with you every week, and help you build the habit of finishing what you start.
We are a Canadian coaching and consulting practice in the Sedighi.ca and SAZ.ca group of companies. The work is led by Ali Sedighi, MBA, from our home base in Vancouver, BC.
What execution coaching actually is
Execution coaching is a standing weekly appointment with someone whose only job is to ask whether you did what you said you would. It sounds simple because it is. It works because almost nobody does it for owners.
Employees have managers. Owners have nobody. You can promise yourself on Sunday night that this is the week you'll call back the three past customers, raise the hourly rate or finally write the hiring ad, and on Friday no one asks. Over a year, that silence costs more than any bad decision.
Our coaching gives your promises a witness. Each week you name a few commitments. Each week we look at them together:
- Kept: what got done, and what made it possible.
- Slipped: what didn't, and the honest reason.
- Next: what you'll commit to for the coming week, sized so you can actually finish it.
That's the whole loop. The value is in running it every week for months, not in any clever framework.
Who this is for
We work best with owners who are already competent and already busy. You probably run a business with somewhere between one and a few dozen people. You have more ideas than hours, and a folder of half-finished plans.
You're a good fit if any of these sound familiar:
- You wrote a plan in January and haven't opened it since March.
- The same three items have been on your to-do list for six months.
- You get more done in the week before a holiday than in a normal month.
- Your team waits on your decisions, and you keep meaning to get to them.
You're probably not a fit if you need someone to run the business for you, or if you want a long strategy document. For a full written strategy, start with our parent company Sedighi.ca or the services overview to see what we do and don't do.
How the work is organised
Every engagement rests on two pieces: a short written action plan and a weekly check-in. Everything else is optional.
The six-week action plan turns your goals into dated commitments: what "done" looks like, by which week, and what you'll stop doing to make room. Six weeks is long enough to finish something real and short enough that the plan never goes stale.
The weekly check-in is a 30-minute call at the same time each week. We use the same three questions every time, keep a running record of kept and slipped commitments, and adjust the next week rather than rewriting the plan.
Around those two pieces, some owners add habit and calendar work, a focused restart of one stalled project, or longer-term accountability coaching.
A worked example you can check
Here is the arithmetic that convinces most owners. Say you commit to three items a week and, without any check-in, you finish one of them. That's roughly 50 finished items a year, and many of them are the easy ones.
Now say a weekly check-in lifts that to two finished items a week. That's about 100 a year, and because each slip gets discussed, more of them are the hard, valuable ones: the price change, the hire, the follow-up calls. You don't need to believe our numbers. Count your own finished commitments for four weeks and you'll know your starting point.
Proof from our HVAC work
Our case studies come from marketing work for HVAC companies, not from coaching, and we label them that way. They are useful here for one reason: each result depended on steady, unglamorous delivery over months.
Over the course of that work, HeatLand built a library of 850+ SEO articles, and its leads rose 300% within 6 months. Eight hundred articles don't get written in a burst of motivation. They get written because someone commits to a weekly number and keeps it. See more on our results page.
Where we work
We coach owners in every province and territory, in person or by video call as well as by phone, text and email. Seasons, registries and local business habits differ a lot between Halifax and Whitehorse, so each region page explains what changes in that part of Canada.
Start with one honest conversation
The first 30-minute consultation is free, with no obligation and no lock-in afterwards. Bring the plan you already have, even if it's a list on the back of an invoice. Check pricing first if you like, or read the FAQ, then reach out by call, text or email.
Frequently asked questions
What is execution coaching?
It is coaching focused on doing, not planning. You keep a short list of weekly commitments, and a coach checks in with you every week on what got done, what slipped and why. The goal is a steady habit of follow-through.
How is this different from hiring a business consultant?
A consultant usually tells you what to do. Execution coaching assumes you mostly know already and helps you do it, week after week. We still give advice when it helps, but the core of the work is your commitments and your follow-through.
Do you promise results?
No. Nobody can honestly promise that coaching will grow your revenue. What we can do is make your commitments visible, check them every week, and help you notice and fix the patterns that keep work from getting finished.
What does it cost?
Doin.ca works within the group's published consulting rates: hourly from $175, projects such as a six-week action plan from $3,500, and ongoing coaching retainers from $2,500 per month. Canadian clients add GST/HST for their province, and the first 30-minute consultation is free.
Who is behind Doin.ca?
Ali Sedighi, MBA in Technology Management, with 17+ years in business and marketing since 2007. Doin.ca is part of the Sedighi.ca and SAZ.ca group of companies and is run from Vancouver, British Columbia.
Do we have to meet in person?
Only if you want to. Check-ins happen in person, by video call or by phone, and between sessions you can call, text or email. That is how we work with owners in all ten provinces and three territories.
